Developing Business Relationships Using “The 5 Love Languages”

I was thinking the other day about the book called “The 5 Love Languages” by Gary Chapman. I thought: why not take those same love languages that Gary identifies, and apply them to business relationships?  Here’s what came to mind:

  • Words of Affirmation: sending cards of encouragement, support, and appreciation
  • Quality Time: commenting on a blog post or tweeting about it
  • Receiving Gifts: posting testimonials on Yelp, Angie’s List and similar sites
  • Acts of Service: cross promoting with business partners who share the same target market
  • Physical Touch: taking time to meet in person for coffee or a meal

If we take time to find out how others want to be supported in business and provide that for them selflessly, you’ll find that your business relationships will grow. Not only that, you’ll increase the likelihood of reciprocity, which in turn, helps YOUR business grow.

If you’d like to learn about how you can send business greeting cards with “Words of Affirmation” to your clients, vendors, and other business associates, contact me directly. I’ll personally show you the latest business development tool that will make it super easy and affordable to send personalized cards (and gifts) to support the business relationships that you want to nurture and grow.

  1. Patti,

I love your new blog! For anyone else who’s reading this, let me just give Patti my highest regards and warmest recommendations, I know her as a woman of total integrity and dedication to her clients and her excellence in business. And, of course, she’s a complete sweetheart:-)

Professionally, well, let me just say that back when I was in the direct sales business and had tons of leads to call and follow-up with, there’s absolutely no doubt I left money on the table because I didn’t have any systematized way to deal with all those leads and business cards. God only knows how much more successful I could have been had I met Patti then. It’s funny, because I KNEW that follow-up was critical, my upline kept telling me, and I understood that – and I didn’t have any way to do that, so I just watch the leads slip through the cracks like sand in my hand.

    Love you, Patti.
